Weekly Workout Recap: 4/6 – 4/12

WWR Oh boy I knew this week would be jammed packed. Not only did it have two speed works out on the original agenda (I have a hard enough time tackling 1!) but I went for Weekend Warrior status with the fitness events. {recaps to come}.  By mid-day Monday I already revised the plan – to knock out a 3.5m run and to push everything to the weekend. Monday night was too good of weather to pass up and in a mentality of just get it done, I ended up pulling one of my fastest runs in a very very long time. Since Tuesday & Wednesday weren’t such great forecasts and I had to deal with some apartment things, I decided to rest up and load up the weekend.

Plan The workouts in green are part of the Nike Running Half Marathon Training plan, the workouts in black are things I added or swapped out.

M 4/6: 3.5m (PR: fastest run in years)

Tu 4/7: WaH – SweatwithLaurenHefez

W 4/8: Rest

Th 4/9: Spin (sub)

F 4/10: 8m Run definitely a slow long run

Sa 4/11: shrINK @ Ink with Lauren Hefez + 3.59 Hill run the original Hill workout called for 1m warm-up, 2 miles up hill, 2 miles down hill. Since I was a little worried about overdoing it on the adrenal fatigue front and having my eye on Sunday’s planned track workout. I went for an in-the-middle 3.5 miles of hill-y loops. I’ll have to do another post on hills but a preview – there were definitely moments of shuffling vs. running.

Su 4/12: Barry’s Bootcamp with @Emboslice at Well+Good’s #SweatSeries @Athleta   I ended up walking home after the event because it was so gorgeous out and I’m too impatient to wait for the bus. Of course this prompted blood-sugars to drop. Planning to do the track workout in the early evening after allowing some time to recover and after a quick meeting I had….I should have known better. However, no guilt, I ended up doing some personal work while enjoying the sun from my roof-deck. I also think it was probably smarter to prevent a flare of fatigue.
